D Day is just around the corner. Think about it, and the graves in Normandy give witness, that this was probably the greatest invasion ever in the history of the world. Also it was a war against one of the greatest evils in the history of the world.
General Eisenhower made the one of two of the most important decisions of the entire world war and that was when and where to invade. Harry Truman made the second one.
That was when the United States was "One Nation Under God". We certainly needed his blessing in that endeavor. Omaha Beach will always be sacred ground, consecrated by a lot of young boy's blood.
Those boys died for all of us, just as Jesus did.
I am a proud veteran and I lived through WWII as a young child and felt the fear and terror that we could loose the war and that my father, who fought on Okinawa, might be killed. But the Greatest Generation prevailed and I am proud to be a part of that generation which is one that was not self centered and loved their country.
I, unlike a lot of today's youth, who don't know the meaning of being a patriot, love this country and I love Old Glory, because she represents those dead youngsters in Normandy and Pacific soil.
Remember to give honor to those young men who gave a blank check, on their life , to their country.
