The great thing about working from home is that I get to pursue other interests. Its a early Saturday afternoon. I spent a total of 20 minutes prepping and mailing my affiliate offer. Doing my post now and prep my bird for baking (as per my Best Baked Turkey post). Thats right, Im doing an early bird with friends today and baking another one Tuesday. But what to make to go along with it? A root mash, thats the ticket.
A root mash is potato plus other root veggies that are plentiful here in Canada and the United States during this time of year. It is easy to make, tastes great, and has enough good stuff to make your doctor smile with a nod of approval. Here we go.
1) Start boiling a large pot of water.
2) Peel / cut potatoes, carrots, turnip, parsnip. I use the rule of thumb three parts potato to one part for the other three.
3) Add onion and garlic to taste
As always, feel free to remove or sub any veggie you dont like. When all veggies are tender, strain and mash with butter, little milk, sea salt, black pepper, basil, oregano, paprika. Veggies servedJ Hope your Root Mash is a smash at dinner. Let me know how your Root Mash turned out. Post a comment.
