On and About your Business Cards

As both an Advertising Specialty Salesman and an Internet Marketer, I am privy to the expressions of some confusion by a number of prospects and associates, over the need for Business Cards.

Many Internet sellers believe, that because their business is online and they rarely have face to face contact with customers and clients, it is a waste of money to purchase business cards or any other form of printed advertising. Similarly, many in-person sales people believe that the Internet is a place to play games, but not very useful to what they do.

My response to both groups is never leave home without a stack of Business Cards and leave them wherever you can. They are of no value sitting in the shipping container on a shelf collecting dust.  Anytime your Business Card in in someone elses hand, it is better than being in yours.

As can be seen by the examples to the left, Business Cards can take on many different personalities as determined by the desires of the person buying the cards. Usually the printer or the seller, has some experience in the field and can be a valuable resource in helping you decide how the final product should look. Certain professions have standards for how the Cards should look, while for others, the sky's the limit.

It is wise to shop around for a card source as there are wide variations in the cost of cards as well as the selection of papers or stock, that your card can be printed on. Additionally, there is the choice between Raised and Flat print. At my company Thermography (raised) is standard.

Your Business Card is essential to your business but remember, it is a tool and does not replace the human element. The Sales Representative and presentation, are the most important elements in the sales process. The Business Card should link the Rep and the Rep should be worthy of the Entre provided by the card.

This seems like a good time to announce that until the 22nd of November, 2013, I will offer the following Special Pricing for readers: 500 Black Raised Ink on 80 lb White stock $22.50 or 500 Black and 1 Standard Color Raised Ink 80lb White Stock $27.00. The Business Card is the first line of advertising that should always be handy. It is always better than a napkin or scrap of paper when trying to advance your most important product: YOU!

Til next time
